2021 Charger Schedule: 17 match days and times, schedule strength, last record announcement

The Chargers have high hopes for a big rebound in the 2021 season with promising first-year coach Brandon Staley. Los Angeles will have a disappointing 7-9 final season under Anthony Lynn, but there is great optimism this year after an innovative campaign by quarterback Justin Herbert.

Staley brings his defensive spirit from the NFC Rams, trying to make an immediate mark on the other LA team in the NFL. Herbert will try to focus on his game with a new attack system in the 2nd year.

The Chargers have some doubts about the coach-QB combination, as it could be there for a long time. They are already on the radar to return to the AFC playoffs for the first time since 2018.

Here’s a full breakdown of the Chargers ’2021 lineup, including 17 game dates, start times and analysis.

The Chargers are one of three teams that have to face Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs of AFC West’s top two twice. The stacked AFC North and NFC East are also drawing a weak but better.

As a third-place team since 2020, however, the Chargers also reach the transition Patriots and Texans. With the schedule extended to 17 games, they were given an additional NFC game, also against the third Vikings.

The power of the charger schedule

The Chargers have the 17th strongest current program based on the combined percentage of 2020 winners (.493, 133-137-2) among current opponents. They are small in the middle of the package.

Outside of the Chiefs, they will face three knockout teams from AFC North in the Steelers, Ravens and Browns. The only team in the playoffs that returns from the NFC is Washington. He won the East. -500 with record.

The toughest tests: Kansas City is surely the largest. But even Los Angeles can’t be happy with Cleveland, Dallas, New England and Pittsburgh – and all of their massive fan base – for getting to the SoFi stadium.

The biggest breaks: The Chargers balance some concerns with their home opponents with a good roadmap. Beyond going to the Chiefs, the game in Baltimore is the only trip that is truly wonderful.

Bottom line: Staley and Herbert have teamed up with the Chargers in 2021 or rounded out the world as a playoff team. The Chargers have an offensive and defensive talent to meet those expectations. The schedule is also manageable enough.

Record announcement: 10-7
