2022 Winter Olympics Gold Medal Events – Sunday, February 6, 2022
Entering Day 5 of the tournament, seven events will hold their finals and distribute medals and the United States and Canada aim to be well represented. Of the highlights for the day are the mixed curling competition and women’s ice hockey preliminaries for both nations definitely stand out. Above all, however, the prime event of the day will be the men’s snowboard slopestyle, featuring the event’s 2018 gold medalist, Team USA’s Red Gerard, and Team Canada’s Mark McMorris.
On the ice rink, the Team USA women start Sunday off with a preliminary ice hockey match against Switzerland while Canada and the ROC provide the nightcap. Both the Americans and Canadians were in the gold medal game at the 2018 Pyeong Chang Winter Olympics where it was the red, white, and blue standing highest on the podium.

2022 Winter Olympics Medal Count – Top 10
At the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeong Chang, Norway led all nations with 39 total medals. On Saturday, they continued their domination, picking up the first gold medal of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. The honor goes to Therese Johaugh who won her first gold medal, taking the women’s skiathlon. Joining Norway with an early gold was China. Their short track speed skating mixed relay won the event’s inaugural Olympic run.
