6 things to look forward to as Liverpool return from half-time – Liverpool FC

The interruptions of domestic action are never welcome disruptions, but it’s almost time for Liverpool to mark their return and there are very to look forward to when they do.

With the international window just over, we can all begin to focus our attention on what is going to be an exciting few weeks for Jurgen Kloppsee Reds.

The month of January has progressed with fewer bumps in the road than many expected to ensure Liverpool stay in the hunt in all four competitions.

Add to that a new signature, injury return and a cup final on hand and you have a recipe for pure bliss.

Harvey Elliott is BACK

The 18-year-old made an impression when he broke into Klopp’s team at the start of the season and just then Premier League started flowing, injury struck.

And 147 days later, Cardiff’s visit will put an end to the wait to see Elliott back in action, and although expectations will be managed, there is no hiding place for the excitement of his return.

It comes at a time when the Reds are well-equipped in staff to ensure he is not asked to produce the magic from scratch, but something tells us he will do it anyway.

His goal and help in a match organized for him during the break just serves that point!

The debut of Luis Diaz

The reasons to smile only continue with the thought that Diaz will make his debut after his £ 50 million move from Porto only late last week.

The 25-year-old was with Colombia on international service and the combination of a late arrival Thursday in Liverpool and the need to settle will likely see us have to wait until the visit of Leicester to get a look.

It will probably be off the bench, but it is known that Klopp enjoys giving us some surprises Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane after just returning by that time, the Foxes may be the ideal time.

Speaking of Mo and Sadio …

Unfortunately, at least one of the two from AFCON will return disappointed with the final result, which will be decided just hours after Liverpool meet Cardiff.

They will be back at Liverpool in the days to come and with the visit of Leicester four days after their last match in Cameroon, it will touch and go for their involvement.

Liverpool would not want to rush them back too soon, so managed minutes from the start whether the bench is likely and it may even be that not both participate.

The journey to Burnley three days later would then represent a return to normal scheduling and Klopp would have a formidable list of options to choose from in attack – just what we all wanted to see!

The Champions League is back!

It feels much longer than December 7 since the Reds last played in Europe, it could be due to the way Liverpool have steamrolled what was considered the group of death …

But now the Serie A leaders are waiting in Inter Milan, only on February 16 at the San Siro, and this is causing an intriguing clash between two teams that have not met since 2008.

This is a competition that Liverpool can seriously challenge, and the road to St. Petersburg is starting now. Apply it.

A healthy team

It’s not something Liverpool have been able to shout from the rooftops in recent memory, and touching wood, it does not turn on its head quickly.

But on the way to the next month of action Divock Origi remains the only name on the injury list with Thiago and Elliott made a successful return to training.

Injuries will still show up, but for now, at least, Klopp has a myriad of options that have been a rarity and Diaz is just adding further class to Liverpool’s arsenal. Rotation may never have looked so good.

And a final!

The first shot at silverware this season and the first final since 2019 for Klopp’s men, it was too long.

Domestic cups are not thrown in the big light in the current day, but a day at Wembley with a chance to lift a trophy and become the record winners of the competition, with nine, is there to take.

You can expect Liverpool to go strong, of course, but it’s likely to be Caoimhin Kelleher a goal rather than Alisson after Klopp confirmed that the competition is the Irish’s.

On the way to Wembley!
