Antiretrovirals: The serious condition of HIV patients in Kenya due to ARV drug shortages
Kenya has a shortage of drugs used to treat HIV.
Antiretroviral supplies (ARVs) have been stuck in the port of Mombasa since January because donors, USAID, refused to distribute the drug, accusing the government medical supply authority of corruption and mismanagement.
Although it is now fixed, about one and a half million Kenyans living with HIV are still struggling to get the medication they need to survive.
