Brock Lesnar Almost Went Bankrupt During His First WWE Run

WWE Champion Brock Lesnar had a successful career throughout his run in the company. He is now synonymous with always being at the top, but things were not always like that for Lesnar.

As you may know, Lesnar started on a remote farm in Webster, South Dakota, and did not even have a TV growing up. Eventually, when Vince McMahon signed him, Lesnar went on to earn a much larger name for himself.

For someone who makes massive amounts as Lesnar, you’d think things were always smooth for him. Lesnar revealed on The Pat McAfee Show how he almost went bankrupt in the beginning of his WWE run.

“I do not have to do this. Okay? I’ve been really wise and I’m not here, I’m doing it because I want to. And I’m not gloating, I just, I’ve been really good with money. Yeah, so it has not always been that way though. I learned from a lot of people. I was almost bankrupt my first run, you know? ”

“I just signed a big deal with Vince. I mean a big deal. Back then, 20 years ago was a lot of guaranteed money. And so then I like, six months later I like, ‘yeah, go screw yourself, Vince’. He was a little chapped. I get it now. Made an investment here. So, but I had to do that and he understood that. I had to leave. I had to go out and, I was not done yet. You know, if I would not have left I would not have been, you know, in the UFC and all that stuff. When I made my name, I paved my own road. You know, so, came back and established, this is what I want, this is how I’m gonna do it, and I’m very fortunate. ”

Brock Lesnar’s run in WWE hit a speed bump when he left the company following WrestleMania 20. Lesnar is referring to this time in his life. However, after his exit, Vince eventually got him back. It seems Lesnar’s issue was to make something of himself without being under Vince.

Brock Lesnar is heading to WrestleMania 38 after winning the WWE title match at Elimination Chamber. He is set to face Roman Reigns in a champion vs. champion match-up.
