No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing driver Harrison Burton was running at the front of the outside line with Brad Keselowski behind him, as both drivers exited Turn 2, an ‘over-aggressive’ shove from Keselowski sent Burton’s car into William Byron’s on the inside.
Causing a massive wreck which ended up collected several cars including Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and others.
The three-time Daytona winner, Hamlin has not finished lower than fifth twice in the Daytona 500 since 2012 and currently holds the record for the most Daytona 500 wins of any driver in the current field.

On Lap 63, with just two to go in stage 1, Denny Hamlin was caught up in a wreck involving eight cars forcing him to end his day early.

Martin Truex Jr. won the first two stages at Daytona as he was leading when the crash happened less than three laps to go before the end of stage 1.
