ESPN spoke with Dan Orlovsky and Kirk Herbstreit after Justin Fields’ storm
A couple of ESPN hosts were called to the director’s office last week.
Dan Orlovsky and Kirk Herbstreit won’t be putting in the time to make a brief dusting on Twitter, ESPN has addressed the “problem” with two analysts after Orlovsky. comments to Justin Fields quarter, According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
Orlovsky made waves last week when Ohio State quarterback Fields shared fiery comments about Fields ‘”The Pat McAfee Show,” which questioned Fields’ attitude and work ethic, including information from an unnamed source.
While Orlovsky defended Fields in his place on the show, saying his main concern was Fields ’mechanics, he still got hot for passing on questionable information and perpetuating comments from an anonymous source. Some see “attitude” and “work ethic” concerns as a racial stereotype attached to Black quarterbacks.
Orlovsky then clarified Fields’ comments on Twitter and praised the big quarter.
Colleague Herbstreit was also not very happy with Orlovsky’s comments, creating an angry tweet on April 1st.
Even if you don’t say …
to pass that on to “conscious people” is prudent and absurd !! Shameful !! https://t.co/r0RFSr1B6y

Herbstreit’s tweet reads:
“Absolutely RIDICULOUS. Even if you don’t say it … it’s” prudent and absurd to give that to “people who are aware” !! It’s embarrassing !! “
It looks like Fields ’draft is shrinking as he is considered QB2 in the 2021 NFL Draft before college season begins.
Here we hope Orlovsky learned his lesson in the NFL draft season.
