Harvey Elliott has spoken out on his return to action from his long-term injury.
Elliott made his return for Liverpool on Sunday as the Reds downed Cardiff by three goals to one in the 4th round of the FA Cup.
Elliott had a very bright start to the 2021/22 season and looked to be forming a great connection with Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold down Liverpool’s right-hand side.
However, just as he was cementing himself in Liverpool’s midfield, the youngster suffered an injury vs Leeds back in September, and had remained out of action since.
Now, though, Elliott has returned for the Merseysiders, coming off the bench in the second half of the club’s FA Cup clash with Cardiff.
And the English starlet would mark his return to action with a bang, scoring his first-ever goal for Liverpool’s senior side.

Now, after making his return for the Merseysiders, Elliott has had this to say: “It’s a dream come true. To come back from a horrible injury like that in quick time and to come here and score in front of the fans, I’m just buzzing. It has not really sunk in yet but I’m sure it will later. ”
On his goal specifically, Elliott added: “It all happened so quick, to be honest. I did not really think about it. I swivelled, had a shot and it went in and I was off celebrating. It all happened so quick but I saw a little replay of the goal and I’m proud of it. ”
Harvey Elliot to replace Curtis Jones?
Now Elliott is back fit, you would assume he will once again become a regular feature in Liverpool’s midfield-three.
In his absence, Curtis Jones has been handed a decent amount of action.
But Jones, including vs Cardiff, has put on some less than impressive displays for Liverpool.
