IMPACT Wrestling presents head coaching work to Sean Payton, from February 19-20 at IMPACT shows in New Orleans
IMPACT confirms Tag Team Partnership with New Orleans Nonprofit, Son of a Saint; Donate Tickets to Local Youth
IMPACT Wrestling today offered its head coaching position to Sean Payton starting with the two live IMPACT shows in New Orleans on February 19-20, the pro wrestling company confirmed.
Payton is the best head coach in the history of the New Orleans Saints, who took the 2009 team to an unforgettable Super Bowl victory. He retired in January after 15 seasons with the Saints.
IMPACT Wrestling gifts NO SURRENDER live from the Alario Center in Westwego, Louisiana on Saturday night, February 19th, with several championship games already announced. The NO SURRENDER Main Event features an IMPACT World Championship title defense for Moose, himself a former 7-year-old NFL player, against W. Morrissey. NO SURRENDER will stream live on IMPACT Plus and YouTube for IMPACT Ultimate Insiders.
On Sunday, February 20ste at the Alario Center – located 12 miles away from the Caesars Superdome, Payton’s former home with the Saints – IMPACT will have live matches for its flagship weekly TV show, Impact !, which is broadcast every Thursday night on AXS TV.
“Sean Payton is a legend in the New Orleans area, so we are delighted to invite him to be the first IMPACT Wrestling Head Coach,” said IMPACT Executive Vice President. Scott D’Amore. “I’m sure every wrestler can learn something from Sean Payton, who has won 152 regular-season games as the Saints’ head coach.”
Terms of the offer have not been announced, but D’Amore has confirmed that IMPACT will make a donation to Son Of A Saint following the IMPACT shows in New Orleans.
Son of a Saint is a New Orleans-based charity that supports fatherless boys through mentorship, emotional support, life skills development, exposure to constructive experiences, and the formation of positive, lasting peer relationships. Son Of A Saint, Celebrating Its 10thste anniversary this past December, was founded by Sonny Lee, whose father, Bivian Lee Jr. from 1971 to 1975 was a fullback for the New Orleans Saints before dying in 1984 at the age of 36.
IMPACT World Champion Moose and IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Mickie James will be visiting Son Of A Saint-mentees on February 9ste and a group of Son Of A Saint youth will attend the IMPACT show on February 20ste.
Full responsibilities for Payton as the IMPACT Head Coach have not been announced.
