UFC Champion Julianna Peña on COVID-19 Pandemic: “It’s Just a Money Grab”
Rogan’s hugely popular podcast on Spotify recently drew national news for content that voiced controversial opinions about COVID-19 treatments. One episode in particular influenced Peña’s opinion on the pandemic.
A recent podcast interviewed dr. Robert Malone, a virologist who was involved in early mRNA technology research. Malone was banned from Twitter for allegedly spreading false information about COVID-19 and vaccines. The interview was recorded by YouTube.
“I listened to the podcast with the two doctors, like back to back, dr. Malone and Peter McCullough. It was open to me, “said Pena.
The episodes with dr. Malone and McCullough were shared by the millions on social media and elicited strong reactions. 270 doctors, scientists, professors and healthcare professionals wrote an open letter to Spotify asking for the platform to adopt a policy against “misinformation”.
Legendary musician Neil Young has given an ultimatum to Spotify, telling the platform to remove his music or pull Rogan’s podcast. Spotify has chosen to remove Young’s music.
“I’m a massive conspiracy theorist about this whole thing and I was from the beginning,” Peña said. “I think it’s just a money grab. They’re trying to kill us, you know? And that’s ridiculous. “
Rogan returned against Peña’s remarks.
“I do not think they are trying to kill us. I think there is a lot of confusion as to what works and what does not work, ”Rogan replied.
