UFC Vegas 47 features a pivotal middleweight matchup between rising contenders Jack Hermansson and Sean Strickland who look to get into the title picture.
Hermansson has traded wins and losses over his past four fights, but recently put on a dominant performance against Edmen Shahbazyan last May. He remains in the hunt for a middleweight title shot if he can get on another winning streak.
He’ll face a tough test in Strickland, an unpredictable adversary who has won five straight inside the octagon. He’s been on a roll since moving to middleweight, earning knockouts over the likes of Nordine Taleb and Brendan Allen.
The main event is not the only thing to look forward to at UFC Vegas 47. Veteran Sam Alvey makes his return to the cage against Phillip Hawes in another middleweight showdown. Nick and Nate Diaz teammate Nick Maximov faces Punahele Soriano in the co-main event, and The Ultimate Fighter winner Bryan Battle takes on Tresean Gore in a long-awaited matchup.
The prelims feature the debuts of Chidi Njokuani and Jailton Almeida, along with the return of women’s bantamweight contender Alexis Davis.
