NASCAR ‘stands tall’ with Bubba Wallace following Donald Trump’s tweet.
Just two weeks ago NASCAR and their drivers and crew stood beside Black driver Bubba Wallace after a noose was found hanging in his bay during NASCAR’s return to competition. Fans and non-fans alike send well-wishes to Wallace as he struggled with the incident amid some of the most racial tense times in American modern history.
Then, just days after the incident was reported an FBI investigation determined there were multiple nooses’ throughout the complex and were used as door pulls. It seemed the case was closed, though fans still doubted that Wallace was not a target.
Things got re-heated when President Donald Trump tweeted to Wallace asking why he hadn’t apologized to NASCAR.
Wallace took the high-road and tweeted a statement and that was quickly retweeted by NASCAR.

Then NASCAR took it a step farther and gave their own supportive statement.
“We are proud to have Bubba Wallace in the NASCAR family and we commend his courage and leadership. NASCAR continues to stand tall with Bubba, our competitors and everyone who makes our sport welcoming and inclusive for all facing fans. ”
Needless to say, NASCAR does not appear to be needing an apology from Wallace.
The racing promotion has been in hot water for banning the confederate flag from its events and even had drivers saying they’d leave NASCAR if the band was held. So far, they have stuck to their guns and not allowed the symbol of racism to be flown during their races.
