Pablo Sandoval – yes, he’s still in the league – gets a game draw against the Phillies and Nola
Accept. You didn’t even know Pablo Sandoval was on the big league list this year.
That’s fine. It’s not just for Braves fans – and Giants fans, because many people love Panda for everything because it’s eternal and they’ll always know where it is – he knew he made the Atlanta Opening Day list as a bat apart from the chair.
Sandoval showed on Thursday his tremendous passion for drama, his ability to climb to the biggest moments, which he has yet to give up.
Braves hitters Closing on the opening day was Phill Nola of Aaron Nola of the team, who finished third in the 2018 NL Cy Young race and averaged 10.7 per nine entries in 2019-20. And 6 2/3 entries PP – Pre-Panda – How vintage it was.
The How to give the Phillies fans that unfamiliar feeling in their guts could be the kind of team that could finally be the first to enter the playoffs since 2011. How How scattered five hits and pulled out six, working effectively in the seventh inning. After giving Christian Pacher a double, Braves director Brian Snitker brought Sandoval to success.
And this is what happened. Zero hesitation, from the moment the bat connected to the 0-2 field.
Sandoval seems to have been around forever, but he’s only 34 years old. He won three rings with San Francisco, “winning the World Series title every other year”: 2010, 2012 and 2014.
In the 2012 World Series, he made three starts in Game 1 – the first two against Justin Verlander – and won the MVP series when the Giants beat the Tigers and averaged the same .500 batting average. And in the 2014 World Series, he scored “only” .429, with 12 hits in seven games, after winning .400 in the NLCS.
The Giants left to sign a $ 95 million five-year deal with the Red Sox after the 2014 season and that, by all measures, was a mistake. In 2015 he only scored .245 with 75 OPS +, and then played only 35 seasons before releasing the next two seasons.
It’s not the same, but it’s always funny that Sandoval has introduced two mop-ups in two league leagues (one in 2018 and one in 2019), and has faced at least six champions.
Here is the hope that will stick to it for many more years to come. Don’t expect to see him again in Boston.
