Panthers 2021 schedule: dates and times of 17 games, schedule strength, final record announcement
The Panthers finished 5-11 in their first season under coach Matt Rhule in 2020. This coincided with the record set in 2019 by coach Ron Rivera last season.
Caroline will now be looking for a second-year improvement in mass reconstruction as she navigates the 2021 schedule. After entering the NFC South in third place, the Panthers would like to get closer to the Buccaneers who have won the Saints division and Super Bowl 55.
For the second season in a row the team will have a new starting quarter, this time with Sam Darnold Jets ’first round. Rhule has more key pieces on defense and hopes to resurrect the crime with a healthy Christian McCaffrey as well.
Here’s a full breakdown of the Panthers ’2021 schedule, including dates, start times, and an analysis of all 17 games.
Carolina Panthers Program 2021
The Panthers open the season against the Jets, which means Darnold gets his revenge game right away. The game airs on Sunday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m., on CBS. The rest of the Panther’s schedule will be released on ET on Wednesday, May 12, at 8 p.m. These are the teams that will play in the 2021 NFL season.
Here is the full calendar for the 2021 Carolina Panthers.
Start: Buccaneers, Saints, Hawks, Washington, Eagles, Jets, Patriots, Vikings
Outside: Buccaneers, Saints, Falcons, Cowboys, Giants, Bills, Dolphins, Cardinals, Texans
|1||September 12||Jets Vs.||13:00 ET||CBS|
The Panthers still have to deal with Tom Brady the Buccaneers twice, but they won’t face a Saints team led by Drew Brees. The Falcons also made a change to the top a season later as the new coach.
In addition to six NFC South games, Carolina gets all of the AFC East, appearing in her first QB Cam Newton with New England and well-known members of the Buffalo organization. NFC East also plays everything, meaning another appointment with Rivera and Washington.
The NFC Cardinals and Vikings are tough third-place opponents. They are not AFC Texans.
The strength of Panther’s schedule
The Panthers have the seventh-weakest schedule based on their 2021 opponents ’combined 2020 record (128-143-1, .473). The Buccaneers and Falcons have it even easier, while the Saints in first place have a few indents.
Carolina has four games to go against her playoff teams in her division. The only other two opponents in the tournament were Sean McDermott’s Bills and Rivera’s Washington Football Team.
The toughest tests: The double dose of Saints and Buccaneers remains doozy. At home, the Panthers will sweat most of the Patriots and Washington out of the division. The road has plenty of traps against the Cardinals, Cowboys, Dolphins, Bills and Dave Gettleman’s Giants.
The biggest breaks: The Falcons give it a good chance twice. The Texans should be Panther’s simplest overall game. The Jets and Eagles are not bad at home outside the division.
Bottom line: The Panthers are undergoing major changes in the 2nd year of Rhule and the coordinator of the offensive Joe Brady. Darnold is an absolute wildcard as to what they can get out of him. Caroline’s attack seems to be well loaded and the defense involves young promising playmakers. The problem is, the Buccaneers are piled up and the Saints remain strong. It also seems that hawks are better.
