All time record vs: 28-3
Oklahoma State will take on an undefeated Panthers team that is on a two-way winning streak after a rough start to the season. UNI does not have the best talent at every weight, but they wrestle hard in every game and should keep many scores closer than the rankings would show. The biggest question for OSU is who will start at 197lbs for the foreseeable future, and I have no doubt that Harper will be allowed to just keep bumping. The Cowboys can have a variety of options for now: Geer was previously a qualifier at 197 pounds, Anthony Montalvo could go, but I’m not sure of his health, or Gavin Stika bumps for now. I doubt Kyle Haas’ red shirt will be pulled. If I accept that Ferrari is going to make a comeback at some point, I think bumping Stika for now makes the most sense. Geer going up can work too, but I think for now they will keep him at 184lbs.
125lbs: # 6 Trevor Mastrogiovanni (10-0) vs # 13 Brody Teske (7-2)
In the duel last year, Teske beat Mastrogiovanni 6-0 with near miss, an escape and ride time. It bodes well for Mastrogiovanni who looks improved on the feet and bottom this year. Teske is slim and probably the best scrambler Mastrogiovanni has encountered this season. If Mastrogiovanni can win that scramble and finish at the top, then Teske is also vulnerable from the bottom position. I think Mastrogiovanni can get the knockdown, but will have to be prepared for an aggressive Teske throughout.
Mastrogiovanni Des. Teske 7-5 (OSU 3 UNI 0)
