Pulisic’s highest confidence “returned for a while” after Chelsea starred in the USMNT role
Christian Pulisic has returned to Chelsea from the international break and said his confidence is the highest he has been in for “some time” after being the star of the US national team.
Pulisic started the USMNT 4-1 win over Jamaica before scoring Winning a 2-1 win over Northern Ireland in a competitive men’s performance.
The 22-year-old’s international display comes at the right time, as he has fought for a minute in a row at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel.
What was said?
“It always feels good, of course, to get on the score sheet,” Pulisic said Chelsea’s official website. “It simply came to our notice then.
“I feel good right now, and the guys feel like they seemed here. For me personally, too, back to club level, I’m very happy.
“I’m sure, like I said. I’m feeling the best I’ve ever felt in my game, so I’m excited about what’s to come.”
Policeman under Tuchel
The German manager took on Frank Lampard in January and immediately helped revive Chelsea’s fortunes.
At the individual level, however, Pulisic believes that life under Tuchel is quite a challenge.
The American was a regular starter under Lampard, but has only started one Premier League game since Tuchel took on the Blues.
Pulisic has started two more FA Cup matches since Tuchel arrived, and is still looking for his first goal under former leaders Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain.
Pulisic is expected to secure its second Premier League victory over Tuchel this weekend when West Brom visit Stamford Bridge.
Following that match, Chelsea will face Porto on Wednesday in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
