The ATP rankings were updated yesterday, and Rafael Nadal remains in fifth place despite winning his 21st Grand Slam on Sunday. He is now only 295 points behind no. 4 Stefanos Tsitsipas, and has a 1597 points more than no. 6 Matteo Berrettini.
Rafa’s beaten opponent in the Melbourne final, Daniil Medvedev, remains second, but the Russian moves to within 1,000 points of Novak Djokovic. The Serb will keep the points he earned with winning his ninth Australian Open title last year until 21 February, as last year’s tournament was played on the later dates of 8-21 February.
