The Pittsburgh Steelers have yet to name their new defensive coordinator to replace outgoing Monday morning Keith Butler. Although that decision has yet to be announced, it does not sound like Patrick Graham will be the choice.
The #Giants plans to retain the respected defensive coordinator Patrick Graham for Brian Daboll’s new staff, sources say, if Graham does not get a head coach position. He conducted interviews for the #Vikings HC works and is still in the mixture. If not MIN, NYG keeps a high quality coach.

Graham, who reportedly was interviewed last week to be the Steelers’ new defensive coordinator, will likely stay at the New York Giants under new head coach Brian Daboll should he not get a head coach post in the coming days. Graham reportedly interviewed for the Minnesota Vikings head coach position and is still in the mix to get it from Monday morning.
The Steelers have already interviewed several outside candidates for their open defensive coordinator position and in the process, they have apparently also complied with the Rooney rule. The other well-known outside candidates besides Graham are Joe Witt Jr. and Kris Richard.
While we wait to see who the Steelers finally choose to replace Butler, who retired last week, the chance-favorite to get the job is the team’s defensive back coach, Teryl Austin, if he does not work at another team to be. their defensive coordinator.
With the annual Senior Bowl week now underway in Mobile, AL, we’ll likely get news from the Steelers about who their new defensive coordinator will be by the end of the week.
