Spurs player ratings: Harry Kane impresses but two teammates disappoint in win over Brighton

Tottenham ran out 3-1 winners over Brighton in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday night.

Two Harry Kane goals either side of a deflected Emerson Royal cross ensured safe passage through to the next round for Antonio Conte’s men.

Here’s how every Spurs player rated on the night.

Hugo Lloris, 7 – Made a couple of important saves. Could do little about Brighton’s deflected goal.

Davinson Sanchez, 7 – Produced some important tackles and was better than usual on the ball.

Cristian Romero, 7 – A welcome return to action. A little rash at times but mostly on point.

Ben Davies, 6 – The least involved of the back three. Got forward once early on but was quiet after that.

Emerson Royal, 7 – A bit scrappy but his effort and endeavor led to the important second goal.

Harry Winks, 6 – Involved in some nice interplay in the middle but needlessly gave the ball a few times.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, 5 – Not a disaster but was sloppy in possession throughout and wasteful on the counter.

Sergio Reguilon 6 – Got forward as often as possible. Hit and miss with his final ball.

Lucas Moura, 5 – Not a lot came off for the Brazilian, whose first touch was poor for the most part.

Son Heung-min, 7 – Quietly impressive until a moment of brilliance sealed the win as he set up the third goal.

Harry Kane, 8 – Took the opener superbly and always looked like he would get a second, which he eventually did.

Substitutes

Dejan Kulusevski, 7 – Some promising moments from the debutant, who set up Steven Bergwijn for what should have been a fourth goal.

Steven Bergwijn, 5 – Missed a sitter and looked surprisingly tired.

Joe Rodon, N / A – Didn’t have a lot to do after replacing Romero.

Rodrigo Bentancur, N / A – A short but exciting cameo. Looked switched on defensively and tidy on the ball.

Matt Doherty, N / A – Had little time to make an impact as the latest substitute.
