The Bud Crash … I mean Clash and Jimmie’s Last 500 – Bad Groove

So this weekend was the Bud Crash … I mean Clash. I’m not sure if you can call it a race at first – it was more of a wreck festival than anything. I hope this is not telling from the Daytona 500. I know I’m not the only one who felt it was ridiculous the amount of collision those cars did. So what we do know so far is that Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is on the pole for the 500.

He’s usually pretty good with super speed roads – if he can avoid the chaos they’re on. So we’ll see how it goes for him. Does anyone have any favorites for the 500? Based on just the Clash, it’s honestly hard for me to pick a winner. I know a lot of people want Jimmie Johnson to win. It would be nice for him to win as he is in the middle of the longest non-winning series of his career, but I do not necessarily want it for him.

Why? Typically, the winner of the 500 does not fare well the rest of the season. I would love to see Jimmie’s last full – time season end with some superiority. I mean when you think of recent retirees and their last season: Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Tony Stewart – none of them had such a great last season. I wish Jimmie did not have to go that route.
