The promising Barcelona Messi has not played in his last Clasico
Barcelona remain hopeful because Lionel Messi has not played in his last club Classic.
Messi’s future is under discussion as he is in the final months of his contract and has yet to commit to the new terms.
On Saturday he tasted defeat at Clasico, and the international future of Argentina was a topic of discussion in the post-game study.
What is said?
Barcelona manager Guillermo Amor was asked about Messi’s future when Real lost 2-1.
Asked if Messi was the last Classic, Amor said: “We hope not; we hope to continue in Barcelona and decide to play another classic with Barcelona.”
What’s next for Barça?
The Catalans gave Real and Atletico Madrid the initiative in the title race, but they are not out of the hunt, as the leaders are still at one point.
With Paris Saint-Germain in hand to continue the Champions League without concentrating on European football, Barça will face the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao next Saturday.
“Now we have to focus on the next game, and that’s very important,” Amor told Movistar. “It’s a chance to win the trophy.”
Messi’s Clasico problems
The best scorer in the history of Barcelona is tremendous in terms of Clasicos.
After drawing the gap on Saturday, he has now played seven games against Real Madrid without finding a net.
The drought in front of the door against Real Madrid lasts until May 2018.
