The report says MLB will take the 2021 Star Game to Coors Field

MLB has decided to replace the 2021 All-Star Game, according to multiple reports Monday night.

ESPNs Buster Olney reported this MLB is “expected” to move the July 13 game to Denver, home of the Rockies, to Coors Field, after announcing last week that the game was away from Atlanta. Reports from other reporters who followed Olney’s initial report later appeared on Twitter.

FAGAN: MLB’s star game All-Star Game to move

MLB is expected to announce it on Tuesday, according to several reports, among others one by Denver KOA Radio, The main station on the Rockies radio network.

Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred announced Friday baseball to take out the All-Star Game and MLB Draft from Atlanta and Truist Park to denounce changes to Georgian election laws. Georgian Prime Minister Brian Kemp enacted the law on March 25.

Critics of the change say they are designed to crush black voters, most of whom vote for Democratic Party candidates. Kemp is a Republican, with two houses in the Georgia Legislature being a Republican majority, and top state election officials, including Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, are elected Republicans.

“Major League Baseball basically supports the right to vote for all Americans and goes against the restrictions on ballots,” Manfred said in his announcement.

Proponents say the changes are necessary to ensure voter and election fraud.

Former President Donald Trump, his lawyers and most of his supporters are cheating, which is why he lost Georgia by gaining 11,779 votes to President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election. Raffensperger secured the election results after several counts and wrote in January the researchers “showed me that there is not enough evidence to question the outcome of the Georgian presidential race.”

Raffensperger, however, supports the recently passed voting law.

Kemp and U.S. senators and Republican representatives responded to Manfred’s announcement with a call for a boycott of the sport and threats to repeal the anti-monopoly exemption under the baseball law.

Coors Field hosted an MLB All-Star Game in 1998. Colorado Governor Jared Polis is a Democrat and the state house is controlled by Democrats, but the state Senate is under Republican control.
