WATCH: Nick Kyrgios hits young fan with a foul shot, makes up for it by giving him a rocket

USATSI

Nick Kyrgios het has made headlines for his performances during matches many times before. During Tuesday’s doubles action at the Australian Open, he did it again – but it was not intentional.

Kyrgios fired a shot into the crowd out of frustration during a doubles match with partner Tanasi Kokkinakis and the ball eventually hit a young supporter in the stomach. Kyrgios was visibly upset by his actions.

The youngster was not seriously injured at all, and Kyrgios decided to alleviate the young supporter’s pain by giving him his rocket.

In the run-up to that moment, Kyrgios missed a service and was extremely frustrated with himself. Just after launching the ball to the stands, the crowd started yelling at the Australian tennis star.

Once he gained control of his emotions, you could see Kyrgios feeling awful beating the youngster.

“I saw it send off to the child and I thought, ‘Oh, no, I’m defaulting,'” Kyrgios said following the match. “I was glad he was right and I gave him the rocket.”

Kyrgios did not face any disciplinary action by Wednesday due to his error of judgment. Kyrgios and Kokkinakis eventually defeated their opponents, Tim Putz and Michael Venus, in three sets.
