Why are they playing Kevin Durant in the James Harden Nets vs. Hornets game?
Nets has been unable to reunite his entire team this season. And yet, going to the game against the Hornets on Thursday night, they are on top of the Eastern Conference.
More than halfway through the 2020-21 campaign, Brooklyn ranks first in the east with a 33-15 record, including an impressive 14-4 record against teams over .500. The Nets have won 17 of their last 20 games despite playing one or all of the main players in the stretch.
Nets star Kyrie Irving, who recently lost three issues due to a family problem, will be available on Thursday, but other members of Brooklyn’s “Big Three” team will not be with her. Both Kevin Durant and James Harden have been ruled out with injuries.
What happens to each player? Here are the latest updates on Durant and Harden.
Why did he come out against Kevin Durant Hornets?
Durant is still recovering from an injury injury that has kept him in the chair since mid-February. The Nets are (cautiously) cautious with the former MVP, but Durant is “returning to the floor,” Athletic’s Shams Charania reported.
“His comeback is closer. I was told if it was a knockout, Kevin Durant would be on the ground by now.” Said Charania In a video segment of the Stadium. “But the Nets are being very cautious. They want to make sure his ascent is done properly. I hope it will be the start of a timeline to return to the ground next week.”
In 19 games this season, Durant has averaged 29.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. He missed the entire season last year when he recovered from an Achilles injury.
Why does James Harden vs Hornets come out?
Harden left the game against the Rockets on Wednesday night with what he called the networks “right hamstring tightness.” This seemed a little worrying considering how long Durant has been in, but Harden is “expected to be everyday” according to Charania.
“The positive news about positive networks at the moment is that they don’t think it’s a long-term issue. It will be every day,” he said. Said Charania. “In terms of return, considering the networks and how they work, they will make sure that 100 percent of them are healthy, having made their ascent in the right way before returning from any kind of hamstring problems.”
Since being traded from Houston to Brooklyn, Harden has emerged as an MVP candidate with an average of 26.1 points, 11.2 assists and 8.9 rebounds per game.
Networks Vs. Hornets injury report
The Nets will also be without Blake Griffin, who is sitting back on the second night. The great man who has just signed LaMarcus Aldridge is expected to make his Brooklyn debut, as it does not appear in the team’s injury report.
