Ziyech: Chelsea will “do everything” to win Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals
Hakim Ziyech has revealed that Chelsea will do everything they can to secure a win against Manchester City in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City.
The winger has competed with the Blues four times since the Ajax team scored a goal last summer and provided an assist.
After winning against Crystal Palace and entering the Champions League semi-finals at the expense of FC Porto, Ziyech hopes his team can stay in good form by defeating Citizens in the last four of the FA Cup.
“It’s been a nice week for us so far. I think we can end the whole week with a good result on the weekend and hopefully we can say it’s the whole week, ”he told Ziyech club website .
“I like to play great games – I think it’s the same for all other footballers – but I see them as another game. It’s the semi-final right now, we’re going to do everything in our power to get to the final and no matter how we do it.
“They’re leading the league and they’re really impressive this season, the way they play. You can see that they have individual players who can go crazy. As a team, they can do a lot of things and it’s just a way to play football.
“I played here in January and I think the game was already over in the first half. What I remember is that when they speed up the pace, it’s a difficult team to beat.
Ziyech’s debut season with the Blues has been hampered by injury delays and limited him to a 12-league start to the current campaign.
The winger admitted it was difficult for him to fit in at Stamford Bridge, but said he would continue to work hard to rediscover the form in which Chelsea were involved with 44 million euros to secure his signature.
“It’s a difficult season because it’s all about adaptation and injury. Then a couple of games aren’t played,” he continued.
“It’s a difficult season, but I think having these seasons can be helpful for every player because they have to work harder and keep improving every day.
“It’s about rhythm and sometimes you think you have rhythm then you take a step back. It took a while and I have to keep believing in myself. I’m not loud, but I have to keep going and keep working and the rest will come naturally. “
